Today's Project
Have you finished making your Christmas cards, yet?!? Well, I'm still making mine and really need to get them in the mail next Monday... hoping I make my deadline as I've not been feeling my best since the weekend fighting another low grade fever.
This month's technique challenge is a challenge to try something new or something old with a twist to make it our own. I chose to try something new... well, new to me! Sara Douglass demonstrated a fun technique that I've been wanting to try, but haven't. An Artisan friend of mine, Kim Fee, has been using this fun technique a lot during this Christmas card making season... and just this week (LOL!), she shared a card on Instagram that I knew would be perfect to CAS(e) as I have not been feeling my best. Thank you so much for the amazing inspiration, Kim!
So here's today's project to inspire you to CAS(e) an Artisan to use a technique you've been wanting to try!
Project Details
Many of you know how much I love to use Night of Navy and Basic White to create classic, elegant cards!
Totally inspired by Kim's project, I made it my own. The Yuletide Village scene was stamped across a piece of Basic White cardstock measuring 8-1/2" x 5-3/8". The snowflake garland was stamped across the top envisioning how it would look walking around the village. Each panel was trimmed down to 2" wide while carefully trimming 1/8" off between each panel to allow for the gaps on the card.
The Night of Navy card base measuring as a standard size card when folded flat stands tall to be viewed from any angle.
A Garden Green ink pad was lightly swiped across a quarter sheet of Basic White cardstock several times to create a green background. A bottom section of the same sheet was swiped with a Real Red ink pad along the bottom edge. Four holly leaves and berries were die-cut from the Reindeer Fun Dies.
The Sentimental Wishes sentiment was white heat embossed twice and die-cut with a circle from the Stylish Shapes Dies.
The broad short banner from the Stylish Shapes Dies was die-cut four times from Gold Foil Sheets.
The gold foil banner and holly were adhered to the sentiment circle to replicate the front.
The assembled sentiment was adhered to the card panels with Stampin' Dimensionals.
The Basic White Medium Envelope was stamped to compliment the card front. A Basic White cardstock insert stamped to compliment the village scene will be included with the card to correspond to the recipient.
